ABOUT
Honor Their Sacrifice

MISSION & HISTORY.

Honor Their Sacrifice all started with the compassion and heart of one man, John Miller-Ross. John and his family started visiting his local cemetery, Springdale Cemetery, in Peoria, Il and noticed how overgrown, dirty, and covered in moss a lot of the headstones were. Upon further examination, John realized a lot of the older headstones he was viewing were soldiers' headstones and he was overcome with emotion thinking about the lives that had been lost and laid to rest in this place.

Thinking of the sacrifice the military men and women who laid before him had given, John found himself inspired to do something to to help, contribute, and honor the soldiers lives. John began looking into the proper way to clean a headstone, researched what products were safe to use, got in contact with the cemetery administration and begun a long project of cleaning stones, to restore them to their original glory, one gravesite at a time.

He initially begun doing cleanings on his own, sometimes with his wife and children helping, and in early 2023, he realized he needed more help. John's project had taken off and he found himself cleaning in all the spare moments he could find. Friends and relatives started to pitch in and from there this small passion project that started with one man giving back, has grown to a community mission of patriotism, gratitude and most importantly, honor.
